What Drive Dynamics Loves About London…

With London being the capital City of England, it is as you would expect, a multi cultural, diverse, bustling city, that is full of life and steeped in historical buildings! Some Interesting Facts About London:-

1.) London is the Capital City of England and the United Kingdom.
2.) The population of Inner London is estimated at over 8,000,000 people.
3.) The Romans were the first people to make London a proper settlement, and called it Londinium.
4.) During the Black Death in the 14th century, London was badly hit, and nearly a third of the population suffered death by it, and again in the 17th century, the Great Plague killed nearly 100,000 people in the capital.
5.) As if the plagues had not done enough damage, the Great fire of London started in 1666, in a road called Pudding Lane, and lasted for four days.  It thrived on the wooden buildings, and a lot of structural damage was done, but the number of deaths were never officially recorded, so no-one knows how many suffered.
6.) The Queen lives in London in Buckingham Palace, which is just one of her homes, and when she is staying there, the flag flies high up the flagpole for all to see.
7.) Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms in all, and has been used as the official residence of English Royalty since 1837.  It was bought by King George 111 as a gift for his wife, Queen Charlotte, but it was not until Queen Victoria took to the throne, that someone lived there.
