Brum Brum Around Birmingham – Just Like A Brummie!! 25th July 2012

Whether visiting Birmingham from Towns and Cities outside, or driving into the City Centre as a local, can be a daunting prospect!  The first thing you should do, is plan exactly where you are driving to, then look on a map, and plan your route.  Do not rely on a Sat Nav to get you there, as they can be wrong, and you need a back up plan if you do choose to use one, just in case!

Many people come to Birmingham for a shopping trip, and although they have fantastic train and bus services, there is nothing quite like shopping till you drop, without clock watching for the times of the next public transport, then putting all your bags in the boot of your car and setting off home straight away!

Shopping centres in Birmingham are nearly all situated in the centre with more than enough car parks available around the centre, making them easily accessible!

If you are a footie fan, and want to watch either Birmingham City or Aston Villa play at home, then the City ground is just outside the centre along the Coventry Road to St Andrews Stadium, then the Villa ground is up the A38 towards the M6 North motorway.

Preferring the oval ball, don’t feel left out because the Moseley Rugby Club are in the Kings Heath area, South of the City centre, and Birmingham & Solihull RFC, locally known as the Bees, can also be found Southwards in the Solihull area.

There are many tourist attractions to visit as a local or as a visitor to the City, and also have good car parking facilities nearby.  The Sea Life Centre is just off Broad Street in Brindley Place, not far from the busy centre, and whilst there, why not have a walk along the canal running nearby.

National Exhibition Centre is the venue for may concerts and show exhibitions such as the Clothes Show or Ideal home Exhibition.  It is located off the M42, junctions 4 or 6, or the A45, and the NIA, part of the same group, is situated on the edge of the City Centre, in Edwards Road.

There are may excellent restaurants and night clubs across the City centre, but please remember that if you are planning a night out with friends, and are likely to drink alcohol, then nominate one of the group to be the driver to stay sober, and Never Drink and Drive!
