How to Become a Driving Instructor 7th September 2011
There are three basic steps to becoming a driving instructor. There are three exams, Part One, Part Two and Part Three. In order to pass these exams you will need to get some good quality training. Part One is a test of knowledge and so It is possible to learn for Part One using home study materials, the test includes questions along with Hazard Perception.
To be able to pass Part Two you will need some training. The Driving instructor Part 2 test is much harder than the normal driving test. The Part 3 test Which tests your instructional ability) is by far the hardest of the three tests. You must be consistent with your training making sure you are completely bomb proof when you get to Part 3.
Am I cut out to become a driving instructor?
A good instructor will have patience, good motivational and organisational skills, good inter-personal skills and an ability to communicate clearly at an appropriate level.
To train become a driving instructor you need to have held a licence for at least 3 years and be at least 21 years of age. You will need to be a “fit and proper person” – this involves checks on whether you have points on your licence and a Criminal Records Check known as a CRB Check.
