DRIVING FIRM SHORTLISTED FOR TOP SAFETY AWARD
A LEEDS-based, family-run driving school has been shortlisted for a major safety award.
Drive Dynamics, which has approx400 franchises across the country, is a finalist in the prestigious Brake’s Fleet Safety Awards 2016 – the first driving school in the country to be shortlisted for this award.
The annual event, sponsored by ARI and supported by FORS, recognises the achievements of fleet operators and suppliers who are working to reduce road crashes involving at-work drivers.
Drive Dynamics, which trains novice drivers and driving instructors and is the most liked driving school on Facebook, has been shortlisted for the Safe Vehicles award and winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Thursday, September 29, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, Birmingham.
This year’s finalists across all categories include household names such as Nestlé, Royal Mail and Sainsbury’s and Drive Dynamics founder, Beverley Midgley, said: “We are over the moon to have been shortlisted. Our business is responsible for training future drivers with 15,000 to 20,000 having lessons every week.
“Safety is of paramount importance to us. We have a safety focused procurement policy for all vehicles and have been at the forefront of acquiring vehicles with risk minimising technology, such as AEB.
“So, to be recognised for our efforts in this field means a great deal to us.”
Ellie Pearson, professional engagement manager at Brake, said: “We’ve been incredibly impressed with this year’s entries and it’s great that many companies have entered our awards for the first time.
“It is fantastic that so many organisations of different sizes are making a real effort to end the needless crashes on our roads as a result of at-work drivers.
“Our judges now have the difficult task of choosing the winners and we wish all our finalists the best of luck and look forward to seeing them all at our awards dinner.”
